A Huge Thank You for A Wonderful Christmas Gift!

At a retirement home in Central Illinois there is a wonderful woman named Ava. Lisa takes her blankets and she faithfully ties them for us. She has chosen to impact her community in a huge way from within the walls of the retirement home. What an incredible blessing she is to Snuggies for the Soul and the cancer patients she touches.

This morning Lisa met with Ava and Karen (who works at the retirement home) and did they ever have a surprise for us! Apparently, unbeknownst to us, they held a fundraiser recently for our organization at the home. Then Karen took the money they raised and went and bought fleece. They cut them all and sweet Ava tied every last blanket. When they opened up the back of their car there were 16 blankets for us!

We know full well that 16 blankets is a huge undertaking, financially and physically. We are so thankful that 16 more cancer patients will know warmth and comfort this season. To add to the wonderful Christmas gift, the retirement home has a program where the employees pay $1 on Friday and can wear jeans. Each week they've decided to give that money to Snuggies for the Soul.

Words cannot express our gratitude. We are so thankful that people are finding creative ways to spread encouragment and hope to others in their community.

A group at New Beginnings Church of God in Decatur also made blankets for us recently. Thank you so very much to ALL our volunteers and donors who have given us such a wonderful year this year! We have high hopes for 2011 as we attempt to reach more patients than ever before. Merry Christmas and God Bless!
